Re:Well, I always say save $.

This is all you need:

A running old computer with 6 megs of RAM and a floppy drive.

FREESCO from FREESCO (http://www.freesco.org)

2 NICS for your FREESCO Box
2 NICS for your computers

1 HUB.

If you go 10BaseT you can get all of this for around $80, not including the old PC.

I've been seriously considering this, would anyone know where I can find a good tutorial on the subject?

Re:<<except a hub will cost you 40 dollars that the most, while a router will be at least 100>>

True. But I thought that a hub will not parse the … so I'd guess you'd need another IP. The router parses the connection back to the requesting comp, so only one IP is needed. Or have I got this wrong again?

So true; perhaps you could save JackMDS some typing time by searching for his replies…they are always useful. :)

i think your cable company should let you do that.
