Q: I have an old Gateway P133 I have Mandrake 7.2 on just for fun. Shortly thereafter I decided that I wanted to put on Win2K. My computer will not boot from the Win2K CD (it will boot a Win98 CD), but Im not sure if thats Linux fault or not. What I am positive the fault of Linux is that every time I boot my computer, I got a message along with some discs detects tell-M04
PXE Connecting bootstrap 18h
How stop I make it stop saying this? I tried to change hard disks, completely unhooking the hard drive, flashing the BIOS, even taking the battery out to clear the CMOS settings are. Im at a loss here.

I'm going to install some version of Linux to use this machine as a router. I was just messing with Win2K on it.

Hello, I said I wasn't sure if Linux had anything to do with the Win2K boot CD problem. i/expressions/rolleye.gif
My main question, to reiterate, is how do I make that bootstrap message go away?
So you wanna install Win2k again? Or you still wanna use Mandrake?

Try a different interrupt. It doesnt appear to be a warning. You can remove the Intel ethernet card if you want.

Of course it's linux! I mean if the computer won't boot with a Win2k CD, what else could it be? i/expressions/rolleye.gif
