Any good programs to a HDD with WinXP on one another? [maxtor maxblast 4] [hd copy]

Q: My sisters Vaio has a chubby 4200RPM drive. So I gave her a 5400RPM one a few days ago. Well, I have two external USB enclosure connected to my computer. What is the easiest way to get just right to make copies of it?

Ive used of Major Geeks and . But when it boots up I get this message:

Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
Could not read the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.
Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware manuals for additional information.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Re:yeah such programs like norton ghost true image can do what you want easily, and there is one minus they are not free. but you can get true image old free version on the official acronis site, or you can use Migrate Easy, it's a special cloning disk software and it has 15 day full working trial version.

Re:norton's ghost always does the trick. You can probably find older dos-based version for free or even newer i'm not sure as I havnt used it in a while. My grandfather, who taught me all about computers around 15 yrs ago (that makes it when I was 5, he started young) swears by it though so give it a shot.

No idea. I would download something called Knoppix. It's a bootable Live Linux CD. Run it in the lappy and transfer the files you need to save and reformat and reinstall windows…

That's what I would do…

I can do that just fine. However I want the restore partition that comes installed on the HDD which saves me a lot of time over in the future.
