Q: Well, is there? The only thing I could find is the 30 days trial version of Nero. Is there anything else there? I only need to backup the data files in the office fires.
Im willing to buy anything as I do. Thought I would see if there was any freeware or shareware out there first.
Thanks
Best Answer: free program always has some limitation ,such as time limit or watermark or sth like that.
really hard to find a good one without limitation.
I recommend 3herosoft DVD Creator. It is a powerful DVD movie maker software to create a new DVD
from all popular video files like AVI, MPEG, DAT, MPG, WMV, ASF, MP4, H261, H264, DV, 3GP, 3G2,
VOB, etc. Besides converting video files to DVD movie, this DVD creator can also create DVD
folder or ISO file from video files, and burn DVD movie from DVD folder or DVD ISO file.
Re:Just a little word of advice. In Win2k or XP, it doesn't lock the cd-rw drive so if you accidentally do something in "My Computer" to the cd-rw while it is burning, it will kill the burn. This might have been fixed but I am not sure. I have killed like 2 cds because I opened media player and it tried to access the cd-rw while burning.

There is a program called "BurnatOnce" that uses an Open Source burning engine. It burns pretty much everything and anything you could want. It is totally free
guy, Thanks. I think this is really what I was looking for. BurnAtOnce (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/burnatonce.cfm) For anyone else that is looking for it. I will post back once I've tried it.

I agree. I was just being cheap and have never really looked to see if there were any alternatives out there.
I did a Google search and found a product called cd mate (http://www.cd-mate.com/). I just tried it to burn a couple of small word docs and it worked great. I was lazy and have not read thru everything to see how much it is after the eval time is up.

Re:cdrtools
It's a collection of command-line mastering and burning tools. Free of course. The only problem I can think of is that I don't know how well, if at all, it works on Windows. If you've got a *NIX system in the office, you can just install it (if it's not already installed, which it probably is if you're running Linux) along with a nice GUI frontend like cdbakeoven or xcdroast, and you're ready to go. ![]()
Re:If you are running WinXP, you can use the one it comes with.
