Q: As stated in the title, who knows how the thing that screws into the hollow center to remove? I tried the hex petal shaped screwdrivers, even the smallest is too large. I would really like to know how to remove it because I do not want all my parts when I remove the top reduced to a window in. Ill try later post a picture to fit. Thank you.
Best Answer: The only way to do this is to use the correct size screw driver, then put the laptop on a hard surface. Press down on the screw driver as hard as you can nd then try to undo the screws.
Ja.

If they are rivets, why couldn't you just replace them with rivets?
How many people have you seen having a rivet gun and some rivets lying around in their garage?
Plenty. I for one have on in my garage. I used it today ![]()

I have one, we sell em at walmart, nothing uncommon.
Re:I finally got the top window in! Yes, it took me 3 hours to get the locking strip in the molding. Now my thumb feels like salami. But anyways, yes, I drilled through those rivets, then I use one of those reverse screws to pull/yank the rivets out. Now my case is noisy as hell from the vibrations. I need to get some nuts and bolts in there. Anyone know the size of the case screws? I think fan screws are 10, but not sure about case screws.
Re:Heh not me but i sure could use one.. hmm maybe i will look in to buying one now i/expressions/rolleye.gif

Re:yea i know just saying if he doesnt have them then it would make things easier to just leave the case as is when cutting the hole

Re:Yep your gonna have to drill them out… but you may wanna make sure that you can correctly put the top back on the case after you drill them out cause once there out your gonna have to find a way to keep the top attached to the case which may pose a problem if where you have to screw and what not effects how the panels go on.. i would suggest just removing everything takes alittle more time but saves just as much hehe

Re:I would guess that you are talking about rivets, they have to be drilled out, they are a permanent fastener.
