Its been so long since Ive even seen the program in use I can not remember how to get rid of dawn, all thoughts?

Yep working on this ancient stuff can be a pain. I am trying to get these folks to let me do a nice clean (if there is such a thing) install of windows and then just have them reinstall their programs but they are now saying well we don't have the CDs for most of those programs – arggghhhhh how frustrating!

Re:Check your c:\windows\system.ini for smartdrv or something like that… I seem to remember that with one of the post win3.1 revs that smartdrive was moved to windows out of DOS… Dunno I was onto OS/2 and Linux at that time…. Never really went into Windows 3.1 and higher until NT4…

Re:Isn't smartdrive a DOS utility that loads in your config.sys. Man, that's an old one. Can you open config.sys and REM out the line about smartdrive?
