Q: Im actually looking for the sounds of an extract files. Mpg movie file and make one. Mp3? Anyone know of any software that can do this?
Re:TMPGenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html) is also a very good one.
It can do quite a bit with an mpeg
Re:GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com/) will make a pretty quick job of it…unless they've changed it since version 4, all you'd have to do is drag the mpeg into GoldWave and then save the audio as an mp3.
Re:There are a ton of ways to do this, almost every video app on doom9.org has an option to demux a mpeg stream.
You may have to convert it to an MP3 though, depending on the video it might be MP2.
Re:Open it with Winamp and see if you can write the audio to disk using the Winamp diskwriter plug-in. Then you can conver the wav file to mp3.
EDIT: I don't think Virtualdub can do mpg files. Maybe TMPGEnc.
Re:I'm sure there are many better options for this task, but I'm also pretty sure you can open the file in most video editors (like VirtualDub) and save the audio stream.
