How To Use Windows 7 Quick and Easy Guide

If you have multiple 'user names' to log into your PC – and you are running Windows 2000 and Windows XP then there is a powerful file/folder protection system built in.

Unfortunately, this feature is 'hidden' in XP home, but can still can be accessed if you boot into "safe mode".

Here's a quick tutorial (http://www.tweakhound.com/xp/xpperm/xpPerm2.htm)

It maybe that this is a bit complicated, or you don't want to use multiple seperate user names on your PC – if that's the case then there are dozens of security programs (some better than others). However, this is a built-in feature and it saves installing another program.

>>I actually have XPPro…and the method described in the Tweakhound guide doesn't look like what I have on my PC. (There atually is a check box in there that says "make this folder private" but it's greyed out and locked (so that it cannot be checked). I do want to use multiple users so that is perfect for me, but I can't get to the security tab they say…because there isn't one. I am the admin, and am logged in as such. Help?
