Q: Not sure if this is the right place for this . but .
Newegg two different Athlon 64 3000 + chip, is a model # ADA3000AXBOX http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-486u0026amp (; catalog u0026 = 23 amp; manufactory = Browse) and a model # ADA3000BOX (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-424u0026amp; DEPA = 0). I am a little confused, they both cost the same. Im guessing the one with the CG stepping AX? I saw the A64 3200 + and 3400 + AX also in their model names. I was just wondering if anyone else knew anything more about this.
Thanks.
Re:hey we have almost the same setup. When you go into the bios what speed is your system reporting? at every boot up mine is reporting a clock speed of 2200, and no changes were made
Re:Aha, thanks everyone. I think I'll order the one with CG stepping, just incase I ever decide to OC in the future.
Re:AX means its a newcastle core and is CG stepping
Re:I had the AX one (ADA3000AXBOX) and it is CG stepping (ADA3000AEP4AX) for sure.

AX is SUPPOSED to mean CH stepping, but you never know. So get the AX version if ovreclocking, or the cheapest one if not.
