Ask for the Linksys Router Owners . [netgear router] [linksys wrt54gs]

Q: Is there a way to get an IP address assigned to a specific computer? For example, I always want my desktop to 198.168.1.100. I used to do this with my old , but I have not found a way yet for my .

Thanks.

Best Answer: No you shouldn't worry. The energy of the EM waves are not that high to cause harm.

They are two types of radiation: Ionizing and Non-Ionizing…

Ionizing damages the body by damaging DNA by ionization or creating free radical reations.

Non-Ionizing radiation damages the body by heating/burning it. Wireless routers and cell phones are non-ionizing and their fields are so weak and small. You would need hell of alot to have any heating effect whatsoever.

Re:Thanks for the info guys.

I installed Alchemy V1.0 v3.37.6.8sv (is there a newer version). But I'm still unable to find where I can associate MAC addresses with IP's. :( Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks again.

I have the WRT54G and there is no static DHCP option in the offical firmware. Some other unofficial firmwares list it as an option. Sveasoft's is one of the more popular ones. Check out linksysinfo.org for lots of info/firmware stuff.

Yeah, I have a WRT54G and there is no way with the official firmware to do what you want to do. I'm using the sveasoft firmware and it allows me to assign static IPs based on MAC address/host name. I would go to linksysinfo.org as guy stated and check it out.
