Q: Ok, Ive built (minus the silk thread and got clean) 0.
My hard drive led does not work, I think Im the opposite, hopefully, this will not harm. ** Update **
was just the opposite is now
I got the normal 1 beep and went straight into bios zip code where it is automatically configured when my cpu 133 x 13.5 – this is true for a 1800 MHz Duron applebred? The math works, but I thought Duron, 200 MHz or 266? I forget, but I really thought the 133 was odd.
Again for those who miss an ASUS ASUS a7v8x x.
This in particular the flashing utility built into the motherboards BIOS by pressing Alt + F2 to enter. What I wanted to know, I will to do this from a floppy disk drive, or can the bios on a CD and the bios will read them out again? Reason is that I do not buy a floppy if I never use. . 0.
If I need a floppy, it will be a USB floppy work? I can at Walmart that way. . 0.
There is also a specific program that I should use that it is running? To the extent that burn in is considered? I think I really need a floppy as I realized just gotton off of running memtest floppy also: P
Thanks these questions answered so quickly, I really feel gratitude for all you guys / gals helpin!

Re:Memtest has an ISO file that you can use to make a bootable CD to run memtest.
Starts alot quicker.
I would think that you could easily use a bootable CD to flash your bios,
but you wouldn't be able to save your old bios file on it before flashing.
Yeah, don't "fix" it if it's working.
I've ruined a bios chip before and had to order a replacement from Badflash.

Re:Thanks, I thought I was going to have to flash for applebred support, but so far so good
I'm typing from it right now ![]()
Re:I would not flash unless you are having problems, ie, don't fix it if its not broke.
Re:First why do U need to flash bios?
U can flash from a harddrive, if U have OS installed just put in an old drive fdisk format fat32 and pu files on ti for flash.
U can make it boot from the old HD too if U want
Re:AMD's XP and Durons run on a "dual-pumped" front side bus…so, 133×2 = 266, which is the correct bus speed for your duron….as for the bios flash, I've used Cd's as boot devices before, but i'm not sure how they would work for flashing though….
