Is it true that non-native resolutions (640×480, 800×600, 1024×768) work good too in Samsung 191T or Dell xx?
This is the only thing holding me back. A while ago I saw BestBuy's LCDs running some video demo (non-native), they looked horrible!
I can't run games at 1280×1024, at least not until my next system upgrade.

Re:Ooh, if you can spend $1200 you should wait for the next sale at Dell and get a 2000FP. 1600×1200 resolution on a 20" LCD is really amazing…

they are great! (this is based off my experience with the 171T)
the 25ms refresh time spec is fairly accurate whichmeans = great for 3d games, even counterstrike, ut2003, and warcraft!
also… non-native resolutions in 3d games also look great!
and the thin frame is too hot!
Re:for $1200, you could buy Eizo 18" L665 or Samsung 19" 191T.
or buy 2 Dell 18" (rebadged Samsung), each is just $600 now.
or buy 1 Dell 19" (rebadged Samsung ), and get back $500 changes for buying GeforceFX.
Hitachi's new 16ms 17" LCD is a good buy and inexpensive, but you want 18" or above.
NEC's 18" is similar to Eizo 18", just little bit cheaper, not worth to buy.
Anything else is out of consideration.

i agreed with this recommendation….my room mate has it, and it's awesome. definitely the best deal/monitor.

Re:I wouldn't suggest ViewSonic or SONY for an LCD … it's all about Samsung or Eizo! (or dell rebadged samsungs) and NEC/Mitsubishi.

Re:I don't know about those, but i have a NEC Multisync FE950+, it's 19", not the clearest monitor, but it's pretty cheap, and has amazing color.
You might want to check out the new NEC that has the super-bright technology. they are 20" monitors, and the contrast on the picture is really superb.

Re:I am partial to viewsonic. . .i had a 15" at work awhile back and it was really nice. I know that sony makes a really bad ass one to, and they have that personal cinema display which i forget the size, is only 999 and is REALLY sharp. I would get one if it wasn't so expensive.
