Q: What is the best program to convert a DVD movie into a DivX file? 977 503 (with the option to adjust video qulity)
it would be great if its small size (for easy downloading) and can be used as a trial or-cracked

Re:I should have mentioned that AfterDawn (http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/) is a great place for guides on dvd/cd ripping, encoding movie making blah blah blah. That link is to the guides page. They have helpful peeps in the forums and links to all the various free software you could ever use for the tasks at hand. I use Doom9 too before I get a Doom9 pwnz0rz AfterDawn
Re:I use autoGK and GK. Read up on doom9. It can be complicated.
I also use xvid over divx.

That's the best suggestion you're going to get. XViD results tend to be better than DiVX.

Re::thumbsup: to those of you suggesting free software. Don't use cracked software, and especially don't ask for it on this forum. Just get a free version that does the SAME EXACT THING.

You can use Virtual Dub (mod), AutoGK, Fairusewizard, or any other free stuff.
Doom9 is the place to go and learn.
Don't ask for "cracked" junk around here. In all likely hood there is something free that does the same damn thing.

Re:You will not need to crack anyhting to do this, you can use virtualdub, which is free software.
