Beyond Good and Evil? Spectacular! [best game] [two dollars]

Q: So did I hear Beyond Good and Evil is the ever made, that nobody played. I remeguyer reading the reviews when they came out and never had any trouble? Maybe if I buy? M bored? list. Well, I never bought (like most gamers) 0.

while browsing Amazon.com, I found that you could buy the game for two U.S. dollars! I thought what the heck and picked it up.

Man for a game released in 2003, this was probably the I? ve Played this year. Got really sorry for the maker of games (Ancel Michel), as the game completely boguyed despite being so good!

What sets the game apart from all others is that you actually care what happens. When a bad event happens that you really feel. It pulls you in.

Anywho, just wanted to share my thoughts overlooked this extremely game.
Here? S hoping for a sequel, but I doubt if there ever is due to horrible sales of the original.

A couple more great games that no one ever played are Psychonauts and Ghost Master.

Ghost Master was cool I use to play it at a neighbors house, I noticed it on Steam I should probably buy it. It was different and I liked what I played of it.

Re:Funny. I thought ONI was a fun game. I beat that thing. :P I still have it somewhere.

Re:I just got BG&E working on Vista x64. I bought the retail version 6 months ago for $7. Was never able to play it due to incompatible software protection. I signed up for 1 year of IGN Insider and was able to download the game for free through them. The downloadable game doesn't use any copy protection so it runs great on Vista x64.

Excellent game…played it on the pc with a gamepad and loved it. Had good music too.

I'm not getting any options for gamepad… is it automatically picked up and plugged and play when you have one? I don't have a gamepad yet, since i wasn't too sure if it used one (but i'll go pick up the wired 360 if it does).

Re:Eternal Darkness was rather excellent as well. Not sure if it's playable on the PC in any form, but worth mentioning regardless.

BG&E has been on my "to buy" list for a long time and has been available for pretty cheap now for quite a while.

I do have a game cube and I've always wondered whether or not I should get the console verson or the PC version. I think the console game is more available.

BTW, the reviews were generally quite good for this game – the only ding was that it was fairly short.

I suggest the Cube version. The PC version has this crazy copy protection that pretty much makes your DVD/CD drive sound like a dying elephant :)

When I played it on my laptop the entire thing vibrated. I couldn't put up with it and spent hours trying to find some sort of virtual drive software that would work with the game (tried a bunch). Virtual CD was the only one that worked and finally allowed me to play the game.

Apparently there are major bugs if you use a no-cd hack.

Anywho… PC game copy protection sucks :) The cube version is less hassle (plus a gamepad is not supported on the PC version)

Re:Liked BG&E, loved Psychonauts. I'll have to look at the other titles mentioned in this thread.

I played both.

If you liked BG&E, you should also check out the Indigo Prophecy (aka Fahrenheit), and try to get the uncut version.

I believe Fahrenheit is the name of the EU version, which is uncut/uncensored, unlike the US version.

Oni. Great game. :)

Oni was a bad game. I played it on the PC and I beat all the missions only to get to the end and get some crap ending. I was severely disappointed.

Re:I liked it a lot; hated the bugs that were not fixed; wishing for a sequel.

Re:yeah, BG&E was a really good game that deserved a better audience. But, that's the way with a lot of good games it seems.

Re:It reminds me of the longest journey. If it's anything like that, I'm game!

I want to play it again. It was a great adventure game, comparable to the Zelda games in some ways, but definitely couldn't top them. Regardless, I wish it would have seen more light, as I wanted to see the entire trilogy played out (they originally had a trilogy in mind, low sales forced them to can that idea).
another game I want to play that was great but never saw much coverage? Oni. Great game. :)

Oni was an awful pile of crap. It had the most pitiful controls of any game I have ever played.

console or PC?

I remeguyer playing the PC game with no problems. I enjoyed it, and as the poster above this stated, it was an enjoyable adventure/action game.

Re:I bought BG&E just after it came out for $10 at CC for PS2. Even if I did not like it I at least it did not cost that much. I enjoyed the game as an adventure game. Not a lot of fighting and one of the best challenges is to play the game with out killing the tin cans. just sneaking around. I was hoping for a second game.

Re:I bought the game a couple years ago. It is pretty great but I never came close to finishing it. I don't know if they've patched it, but I always hated the fact that you couldn't skip the loooooooooooooooooooong intro.

Re:I gave it a try based on user reviews from this forum, but quickly got bored.

I'm not knocking the game in any way or thread-crapping, but the first few levels seem kinda kiddish and simple. Maybe I ought to give it another try.
