Q: Im doing something in MS Paint here at my desk and I want him to take home to work on tonight. Is a 24-bit bitmap a good format to use if I do not want to lose picture data? It is a black and white line drawing, but I do not want funny stuff. I would save as TIFF, but Im in MS Paint in Windows 2000 and that option is not there.

i agree. not point in using 24bit color if there's black, white and a few shades of gray.

bitmap is lossless, perfect format for doing what you want. no need to convert to tif.
