Q: Im upgrading to a 6600GT or x700pro. Assuming that I was not on the map mod with a custom fan, what brand delivers the lowest sound? Im upgrading from a passive cooling card and do not plan to overclock the new map either.

If you're looking for stock cooling with no O/C, go with a passive Gigabyte 6600gt.

Re:Depends on which versions of which you get. I personally prefer the ATI cards. This is just my opinion and I will of course never sway the other side from their view, and I do not intend too. The only two I can personally vouch for are the ATI(reference) x700 pro 256 MB and the BFG 6600GT OC. The ATI was much quiter that the 6600. Also, they bench identically in my system, so I went back to the ATI which was the one I had had in the first place. I only got the BFG because of all of the Nvidia fanboys around here talking about how great it was. *shrugs* I didn't see any "visible" differences. Yes, I know there are some measureable ones, but I don't care. Doesn't matter now anyway, because I upgraded to the X800XL.

Re:Leadtek is actually pretty audible. The MSI is regarded to be the quietes 6600GT, in both AGP and PCI-E flavors.
