can I use broadband at the same time on two PCs? [adsl modem]

Q: I have 2 PCs in my house. one has an and the other does. If I was to buy an and install it on the second computer, can I use the Internet simultaneously on both PCs?

Best Answer: The cheapest GOOD router? Go to Wal-Mart and buy a Linksys WRT54G. Why worry about someone else's troubles to save a few dollars? (New ones on ebay are going for more than Wal-Mart charges.) A 54G will be more than enough for a 10Mbps internet connection. (And you'll have wireless if you want it.)

Re:Another option would be installing a Nic card in the one with the modem connected to it, n then run a crossover Cat5 to the other one, then use something like internet connection sharing in windows9x or you could grab win2kserver and jus run a tool that installs called "Routing and Remote Access" either operating system should work tho.
hope i coud help. PeaCe

Re:I've seen people set up with two modems on two pc's using 1 dsl line, all it does is create mass histaria you can only have one modem plugged in at a time to the dsl line. If the pc's are at any distance from each other and you don't want to run cables through the house, you could go with a wireless option as mentioned in the FAQ's.
