CANNOT RUN no games in XP. HELP ASAP [blue screan] [direct3d games]

Q: Hi,
i dont seem to be able to use all / applications in XP home run.
they seem to do until 5 minutes before the crash to the desktop. sometimes with an error, sometimes without.

ive tryed;
3D Mark2001SE after 7 seconds
GTA3, sometimes in the way of the fade into the actual game, sometimes when loading a save game.
Project IGI, after about 4mins
Bridge commander, after 5mins

OpenGL some games work fine. (Quake3, MOHAA, etc,) for some reason AvP2 work, although a Direct3D game. RivaTuner also refuses to run for whatever reason, and nvhardpage crashes when I click Apply to set the clock speeds.

ive tryd my vid card default rates (Ti200) and happens.
ive still have all the latest drivers for my system and just downloaded the latest service pack, and still happens. ive tryed several versions of the video driver. 30.82 and 40.41, and ran the 30.xx-40.xx bug fix program, but nothing seems to work. Ive also re-installed Windows twice, and still complains about happens.

GTA3 Aclayers.dll when it crashes through the way.

Here are my driver versions;
Via 4-in-1 4.43
nVidia DetonatorXp 40.41

Re:hi again,
corrections.
AvP2 doesnt work propely. it last 10-25mins before crashing to the desktop, contray to what i first said.

RivaTuner now works, it was complaining about a NT problem, but was running in compatibility mode so thats why it didnt work.

ive checked the games compatibilty settings and they wont work on either XP or in compatibility mode.

Re:hi, thanks for the replys
it fails the full screen bouncing box thing in dxdiag
its an abit kt7a-raid mobo, latest bios. the probs not with the mobo, as everything worked in my previous 3 OSs,
Winme, Win2k, WinXp Pro Beta. but not in XP home full for some reason.

im currently downloading the latest audigy drivers to see if that helps.
would a new vid card fix the problem? as im getting a 9700PRO in november.

thanx in advance for any help given.

Get the latest Direct X version, 8.1 works for me. Then uninstall the video card drivers, then reinstall the latest. Might help.

According to Microsoft's DirectX (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/downloads/drx81.asp) page, there is no way to just get DirectX for WinXP; 8.1 is included in XP, and they hint that only SP1 has the latest version for WindowsXP.

What motherboard is this?

Re:When you run dxdiag does your system pass all of the video tests?

Installing the latest video card drivers, DirectX version and latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your system will usually fix all your problems.
