Best Answer: That happened to me not long ago with my Dell inspiron 1525, I had to re-install windows vista, it dodn't allow me to re boot from cd either.

Q: Problem: Windows 2000 corrupted, everything seems ok but some applications will give fatal errors, such as the Control Panel applet to remove programs (C: Winnt System32 appwiz.cpl).
Im afraid of the operation of the CD option to the system to adopt, I have Service Pack 2 installed I have the option of fixing the Windows 2000 installation CD or is there a risk of deterioration in this thing?

Q: Well, the computer does not start in Windows. It would get to the WindowsXP screen and then restart before loading a bar. I resolved to go to the Recovery Console and run chkdsk. Once I got into Windows, there was no start menu and it took more than 2 minutes to load even on the desktop. Much of the services were not performed. Windows update not running. Id rather figure out how to fix this before reformatting.

Re:My PC started mysteriously shutting itself down. Typically, right before it shut down, there'd be a loud fan noise.
It turned out that the CPU fan was worn out and it'd suddenly make some noise and then stop completely. When this happened, the CPU would shut down.
A quick fan replacement got it running normally again.

Recently the 3.3V rail fell sharply to ~ 3.10 to 3.20 (3.30-3.35 was a few months ago) and I noticed that the 3.3V pin on the ATX connector on both the supply and the motherboard seems to be burned (the pins on the mobo are normally silver, but it is a 3.3V darkened.) Can someone tell me what to do?
Q: When I boot my new SC420 (Win2003 Server) without a keyboard and mouse plugged in I get an error at startup window that a device driver is not loaded correctly. I can login, but have other isues.
I want to start with nothing except power and network cable attached.
Any Ideas?
