Q: OK, heres the deal .
Ive is seeking a fairly comprehensive laptop to take on frequent business travelers. I usually do Office (Word / PowerPoint), email, web and a few misc things (light Photoshop when I need to edit photos for a PowerPoint, etc.), while on the road. Certainly not high-powered stuff 3GHz, but Im not in the mood to fight with either a Celeron. I also have a CDRW. DVD / CDRW combo drive would be nice to watch movies on the plane, etc.

Q: I have a comparison between two sticks of 1 GB each, a DFI Lanparty Nf4 Ultra-D DDR500.
On, with a X2 3800 + in socket.
I plan to overclock the processor as much stability as possible, so that more RAM would be?

Q: this is all pure speculation
NV30 will probably outperform the 9700, but it has not much more transistors and still comes out in 5 months or so. I do not know if it is even possible. I know its supposed to be the latest and greatest, and here we are talking about Nvidia. I think ATI Nvidia completely overwhelmed with this and even when it is released IMO probably a GF4 vs R8500 gap.

Q: I bought a MSI FX5600 about three months ago and overclocked it a few times, but nothing drastic. Now suddenly, I realized that the lock-up my computer if I do not exceed 51 MHz for the core and 100MHz memory. This is the default values that it gives me. I have reflashed the BIOS and new drivers installed, but no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Q: Last I checked, people who want to use their PC as a DVR with no luck most digital cable providers, due to a) most ISPs do not support open standards for encryption yet, and b) lack of support for CableCARD on PC before Vista.
Time Warner Cable now offers cards for $ 1.75/month.
Any good card to throw in my PC to use this?

Q: I have a new case and wanted to know what you thought of the Antec SX1040BII w / 400W PS. It is $ 80 after rebate, which is about $ 30 more than I wanted to spend one thing, but it does have a SmartPower 400W PS and I think that Antec is a good brand. I do not fancy a windowed or clear or colored thing that all disappointed, but wants something better than a generic sharp fingers cut bargain basement model. If this is not what you would recommend, as is the case?
