Q: How do you Win ME (and WinXP) on the menu that allows you to boot into safe mode? I just press F8 was the trick, but it does not seem to work .
Im trying to help (by phone), a friend who has WinME on her laptop. I told her to press and hold F8 during boot, but it went right into Windows. I only have WinXP on my system, and F8 do not get me the menu either, so I do not know if MS changed how to do this, or if Im wrong remember from my Win98 days.

Q: I want a 500 MB RAM disc. I also want 500 MB or so left over for use. My machine will not boot with more than 512 MB of RAM, however. Ive already MaxFileCache = 65536. According to Microsoft Knowledge Base I would have no problem to 1GB of RAM. Has anyone successfully installed much on Win ME? If so I would like to hear from you. Thanks!

Q: Everytime I go to the folder where all the movies that I entered on my PC contains Windows Explorer crashes. To open the files without a crash WE to open it using Windows Media Player (file open). I know the specific files, because I managed to drag the videos to another folder (with my awesome ability to click fast) before the error appears.
Any ideas are appreciated!

Q: Update: It seems that this happens when my CPU is under load. If not, it does not lock up my system. I do not get it .
So, I upgraded the motherboard monitor 5.3.7. One day I noticed it was not loading at startup, so I started it up, and hard locked my computer. Then I rebooted and tried again. Same. Then I tried CPU-Z after a restart. That worked fine, but when I closed it and ran it again, my machine still locks up.
After all this, I have a clean reinstall winxp and

Q: This PC will open. Doc documents (Word) as read-only purely arbitrary. I mean, this document will normally be opened on another PC and after closing the file on the PC, the other may or may not open as read only.
This is completely random (or so it seems). A document can be opened normally and the next is read only.
This has nothing to do with user permissions (we have a Windows 2003 domain server) .
This PC has this problem with users having this problem on other PCs ha
