CD Writer DVD Writer u0026 same chain? [dvd writer] [cd writer]

Q: Is it a good idea? And if it will work, that it should be the captain? The CD burner is a Lite-On 48x DVD burner and its an HP dv300i.

Yeah, you can. I've burned 2 CDs at the same time on the same chain at 16x. Higher speeds may/may not work.

I don't really want to burn two cd's at once…I'd be doing either/or, not both. Thanks for the replies though.

Re:If you have them on the same IDE cable then there will be a performance hit when Copying CD's on the Fly because of simutanious data exchange. Other then that it's all good.
