Center 5.1 speakers not working [creative speakers] [sound card]

Q: Heres the problem .

The center channel of my (5.1 Inspire 5300 only) when I work the Orange digital output , disconnected from the Subwoofer / Center from my speakers. If I connect cable to my speakers, center channel not working – and when it works is very low in volume.

So the problem, I can not 5.1 . ie the center channel is independent of the left and right channels instead of playing the same thing. Otherwise, the channel is too low to heard.

I it be that Windows is set at 5.1, I tried tweaking the software that came with my SB Audigy, but there seems no way to tweak the volume of the center speaker. Can anyone help me?

Best Answer: It's a mediocre speaker system. You're better off waiting till black Friday and finding better deals for a logitech speaker system than this. If you go on on amazon, I think they have a 5.1 logitech for around $50-60, regular price is $100 at microcenter. However, if you're just using it for a laptop or you just need a speaker system in your room for listening to music with your ipod/mp3 player, then sure $30 bucks isnt that bad. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

Do You have AC3 Decode checked in "Creative Surround Mixer"?… Also, in the "Creative PlayCenter" there is a setting called "CMSS" that when it's enabled mimics 5.1- You need to disable it.

hmmm… i've never tried that… thanks for the suggestion.
Too bad my PSU burned out :( … now I have to wait for the new PSU to come in before I can fix my speakers….
UGH… darn computer problems!

Re:tried the creative sound mixer… i still can't get the center channel working properly. it works, but doesn't provide a center channel… it only shoots out a combination of what the left and right speakers are playing.

Re:Just in case, You can't find the "Creative Surround Mixer" go to Start > Programs > Creative > Sound Blaster Audigy > Creative Surround Mixer… You also need a DVD or other Media that has 5.1 Speaker support.

Re:The settings that You are looking for are in the "Creative Surround Mixer" under Speakers > Settings.

Re:im curious too , i having that problem , the center wont work but the 4 other speakers work . no 5.1 here also
