Change IRQ's on a nic in NT4 Server [drive engineers] [irqs]

Q: I have a server I was doing and refuses to recognize the tape drive from win2k server no matter what, even the technicians can not drive and they can not intake for some reason. Anyway, I stuck to NT4 server as a stand-alone and it should be fine that way. The tape drive is now and the NIC worked in win2k server (Intel 10/100), NT4 but I keep getting the same error that there is a conflict.
I run the NIC diagnostic program and says that the card is ok, but the cable is bad or an interrupt conflict, I try many cables pulling it straight out of another machine that they are and where they try so the cable is fine, which leads me to an IRQ conflict, it is a while since Ive worked with NT4 servers and , but do not know if I can switch them in any way?
thanks,
guy

Re:Yep no driver cd came with it so I have another one around, I'll have to find out what the drivers are and bring them with me.
The wierd part is when it tests it in the diagnostics it goes throught first section and says "interupts, passed" then gives a error
later that says to check possible interupts, goofy.

Re:Try installing the Intel drivers and see if that enables you to get to the IRQ settings or if it has the utility to do it. What kind of Intel NIC is it. I installed a Etherexpress 10/100 on NT4 server today and it had the IRQ settings there. I did use the Intel disk that came with the NIC though

Re:It's just a small office server, has a tyan dual p2 board in it and a intel 10/100 pci nic, using the drivers that installed with nt4.

Re:All depends on the NIC. Some of them you do it via the driver where you were. Others come with a utility that lets you set the interrupt, I/O ranges, etc. In some systems like Compaq servers, you set the IRQ in the BIOS.

Re:Actually I was digging around there today, the settings were for speeds, half/full duplex etc but I couldn't get to any irq settings from there.

Re:umm let me see if I remember. Desktop>Right-click NN Icon>Adapters Tab>Highlight NIC>Properites>There should be some settings in here look for one labeled "resource" or "settings". Hope this helps.
