Q: Finished HL2 late last week, so I thought I would start something else. Heard any good reviews on this game so decided to pick it up this morning. I must say that this game came out of nowhere to surprise me. I did not expect this game so much, but its sweet. It really makes you feel like youre in a movie. Production in this game is very well done. There was a smile on my face the first time I was a guard shoots himself in the head with his rifle. : D
Definitely as good as HL2. This game and HL2 are neck and neck race for FPS of the year in my book.

You need a decent system for the Starbreeze Engine – I am running a P4 @3.2Ghz/Radeon 9800xt/1GN PC3500) at 10×7 with everything 'On' amd Max Detail and Shadows . . . . No AA/AF or Vsynch . . . runs very well with excellent gfx.
Re:How well does this game run on mid-range systems? Mine's a XP-M 2600@2.4Ghz (182 FSB), 9800Pro@XT speeds, and a gig of RAM.

Re:I got my hands on this game just 2 days ago and I have to say …. WOW. If Game of the Year awards go to the most unexpectedly amazing games, this one deserves it. Infact, I like it better than HL2 & Doom 3 in terms of the fun factor.
What makes this game so great?
1) The game plays out like a movie, literally, which makes it extermely immersive and fun.
2) Graphics are amazing -> bump-mapping, dynamic lighting (like Doom 3 but much better textures).
3) Voice acting is unparalleled -> gives every character its own unique identity.
4) Unique in many ways from the menu to the way the game plays out -> a perfect mixture of stealth, action, adventure. Does all of these better than games that emphasize solely one of these elements.
5) The atmosphere/environment of prisons is so well-illustrated, I almost feel I'm there. Some bad-ass prisoners there! (Sigmund Floyd;))
