Computer build, not to Post. [computer psu] [ram graphics]

Q: Im a new computer together, but do not get to post. I tried changing all the components in (and out) my other computer (PSU, RAM, graphics card, CPU), the only thing that was not converted the motherboard. All components work fine in my other computer, any ideas on what could be?

The components:
Athlon 977 503 XP 2800 Abit Nf7 value to save S2G
512mb Corsair 400 Antec PSU MHz
Radeon 9250SE
300W (tried to exchange it for a 400W PSU, but managed to have no effect)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re:Unfortunately, I agree with you.

E-mailed the vendors to see what their policy is on returns =/

Thanks for all the help.

Re:At that point, I'd consider RMA'ing the motherboard since you've been able to validate the other items as working. :(

Re:Just a quick update, tried running it outside the box but it still does the same thing =/

Re:I read through that guide, other than the motherboard shorting out which I havent time to check yet nothing else came up.

I did install the heatsink the wrong way round initially but that hasn't damaged the CPU as it still works in the other computer.

Re:I made a list of no-POST/no-run problems you could check: first link here (http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/index.html).

The top reasons would be

1) the mobo's not on standoffs (http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/guides/build/caseprep2.html)

2) the ATX12V cable (http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/guides/build/atx12V.jpg) isn't plugged in

3) the heatsink has been installed backwards (photo #4 on this page (http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/guides/Heatsink/index.html)).

Re:if you tried swapping out all the components and they work in the other machine, then it's probably your motherboard. Since you haven't swapped that out, my guess would be a faulty motherboard.

good luck :)
