Q: Here is the machine information:
NT 4.0 SP6a
XP
Both SP2 on a local switch, both are members of the same domain. If I am logged on both machines (same domain user account) I try to pull a file from the NT machine to the XP machine, while on the XP machine and the file takes ~ 20 minutes (~ 3GB) file.
Now when I log on the local machine, same local account, and try to do the same, it takes about 5 minutes, the same file.
Any ideas?

Are you running AV software? (I've seen AV software screw up in network situations in the past…)
Make sure your machine point to your server as their DNS server. (Check event viewer…)

Re:What I meant was that I have created a local account as the same name as the account on the domain.
