Q: So I have something nice stupid.
I necessary to reinstall Windows XP but I accidentally deleted partitions on hard disks data backup. I have not formatted (not so stupid). Can I somehow recover the data?
I did this on Windows XP / delete partition screen and Im still on that screen .
Re:getdataback is really the best file/folders software i know. but if you didn't reformat your drive, there is still a chance to restore deleted partitions (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/partition-recovery.html). Once i also deleted a partition from disk management utility, and someone recomended to try recovery expert from acronis to recover it, and it worked very good for, none of the staff was lost and the partition was restored.
Re:I've done what you're trying to use with a program called Handy Recovery. Worked like a charm. $30.
Re:I see Get Data Back has already been suggested. Here's a link to birdpup's data recovery procedures with program (some free) suggestions. http://{$MySite}/messageview.aspx?catid=32&threadid=1687590&arctab=y

Re:the deletion of the partition simply erases the partition from the file table or whatever MS calls it in NTFS
NTFS has nothing to do with the partition table, with a normal BIOS you're still using the same partition table that IBM created oh so many years ago.
don't use the drive BTW and use the UBCD to make sure no data gets written to the drive.
Unless he does something himself there's no chance of Windows touching the data without a partition being there.
Re:ditto on guy's advice. the deletion of the partition simply erases the partition from the file table or whatever MS calls it in NTFS. don't use the drive BTW and use the UBCD to make sure no data gets written to the drive.
Re:I wouldn't use the Windows tools to do it, but if you just recreate the partition right where it was before it'll work fine.

You may be able to recover the partition table using one of the utilities on UBCD (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/).
I've done it before.. I just can't remember exactly which utility I used.
same for me.
i deleted my flash drive partition once. i used a tool on the UBCD to get it back, but i also forget which one it is!
good luck
Re:Yes, you can recover the data. I'd recommend GetDataBack or Spinrite.

Re:Uhh…I don't think so but…don't take my word for it. Its just what I think.
