Device manager does not . do you? [ami raid] [device manager]

Q: Ok . I have the following IDE controllers

Via 686B southbridge (2 channels)
onboard (2 channels)
Promise Ultra66-u003e Fasttrack66 (2 channels)

Everything works peachy keen (forgive me for saying that) on the first two . but on the third, is a promise Ultra66

It modded into a Fasttrack66. I have my own MOD u0026amp, had no problems. I installed the u0026amp; started. I installed the drivers . win2k and seems to be like that fine (says the device works fine), but .

None of my connected devices are displayed. I have a CD-ROM u0026amp, a ZIP drive connected u0026amp; not show up. What is going on here?

Re:That is an interesting story….

I installed the card (ultra66) and it's drivers wouldn't work. I then read about it on tomshardware.com about how the position of this one resistor determines if it's a ultra66 or fasttrack66. I checked it on my card…and it was in the fasttrack position. So just for the heck of it…I installed the fasttrack66 drivers and then said it was working…but I still couldn't see any attached devices. So I figured that maybe it's because it's still using the Ultra66 BIOS…so I flashed it to the fasttrack66 BIOS. Still no luck…so I then had a dead card because it wouldn't let me flash it back to the ultra66 (said it was the wrong version or something like that). I figured that since my card was basically dead now…why not try the mod…maybe it wasn't a fasttrack after all…but that should make it be one. So I did the mod…and it didnt' change a thing.

As a interesting note…throughout the whole process…I've yet to see it's BIOS screen. This leads me to think it's something about using the 2 RAID controllers at once.

Re:why did u do the mod if u werent going to use it for raid?

Re:how?

I can unsolder the resistor…that's easy….but it won't let me re-flash the BIOS

Re:I would except it would totatly defeat the purpose of me using the card. My whole intention is to be able to have a place to plug in my CD-ROM & Zip drive (all 4 of my other IDE channels are full). I think the problem lies more in running so many IDE channels, or I may have messed up the mod, if so…how do I reverse it. I did do a good soldering job…so I know the card isn't physically damaged it's self.

Re:Try attaching two of them and create an array.

Re:I tried attaching a HDD to test this theory….didn't work

Re:FT66 likes HDD's only to the best of my knowledge.
