Q: I have the new WD drives newegg specs here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136003)
However, I can not get to be recognized in the BIOS of DFI Lanparty Nf4 UT D my motherboard. I tried to force it to 150 mode and tried to connect to one of the four SATA connector on the mobo with no luck. Once I power on the system makes three clicking noises and when the mobo is trying to trace makes another 3 noises.
Did button I get a faulty drive or is just incompatible with my motherboard?

sounds like bad drive – you ar4 not even getting to bios recgnition
if you can slip it into any other pc that would test it
always check jumpers
rma
I agree, if it's not being detected, and it's clicking, it sounds like a bad drive. My WD 250gb SATA II 16mb cache drive works well with my DFI ultra-D.

dfi is full of problems, i guess this is just one of the many problems with a second rate mb company, you're lucky you're not having trouble with ram also. if i were you i'd tryto refund the board even with a restocking fee and get an asus motherboard. they actually work with every hard drive and brand of ram, and psu compatible
Second rate huh?…
Asus has also their share of errors too you know… Some may be fixed but not all…

Re:Just a double checking thing.
1. You did plug it with the SATA power cable, and not molex (if there is any), or the molex?
2. Could you attempt to see if your bios can auto detect? It might happen…
3. What bios are you running?
4. Have you tried booting the HDD without anything else to see if the HDD clicks?
***Side note, your my system link doesn't work.
