Q: To contribute to the awards ella network (and P2P in general), I would like some of my bandwidth to devote to a 24 / 7 gnutella proxy / servant (client only works as an ultrapeer, no download option). Does anyone have any advice on how to do this? As the machine 24 / 7, I want to drive less, then use either a floppy / usb boot disk for Linux with a Gnutella client. Are there combo bootdisk / clients, as there are other distributed computing tasks like RC5?

Yeah, I believe it is closed source, however the soulseek guys approve of pyslsk and I believe even link to it and whatnot. Open enough to work well, I guess you'd say.

It hogs your cpu, you can't find much good stuff on there, a small fraction of files actually download, etc. Just use gnutella, and then use soulseek, you'll see what I mean.
