Q: I want a PC host name appears on the desktop wallpaper. With WinXP, you can display on a Web page as wallpaper. Is it possible to write a kind of script / web page to display? Thx.
Re:I know of several ways of getting and displaying IP address and other info, but they all require the page to be run off of a server of some sort, and not from a stand alone file.
Re:Any chance to imbed this in a html page instead of running an .exe on startup? My company just wants to keep .exe's to a minimum. Is a great app though.

Re:I have to do this to 4000 PCs, so I'd like some sort of script to capture the hostname and display it in the upper corner with the wallpaper. I'm trying to get rid of the manual labels we do with a labelmaker.
Re:I don't know about HTML script, but I would do it the easy way. Save the desired wallpaper as a graphic (JPG works fine). Then open it as a graphic in Windows Paint (XP). Then simply annotate what you want on the graphic in any font or color you desire. Save the result, and the annotation will then appear when you select that graphic as your wallpaper.
