Q: Will the next generation to introduce lower prices?
Re:Average 17" ones can be had for *well* under $300
Where can I pick up one of these?

I don't know about the next generation, but you can save around 10-20% on the current generation if you buy from Dell and use the various coupons that are almost always available.
I bought the Dell 1900FP (it's a rebadged Samsung 191T) 19" LCD a few weeks ago from Dell. It's starting price was $1299. I got it for $1024 shipped using a 20& off coupon, a $10 off $100 coupon, and a free shipping promotion, PLUS no sales tax to me in Cali! That's around 22% off, not including saving 8.25% more by not having to pay the sales tax. Can't beat that with a stick!
I say, "why wait, buy from Dell now"
Hi:
How is your Dell 1900P (191T)? Do first person shooter games run fine? I couldn't decide whether to buy that or the 171P but after reading a review on the 191T from PCMAG, I chose the 171P.
Thanks for any input!
Re:Will the next generation introduce lower prices?
Depends what you mean by "soon."
Prices now are a good deal lower than last year or even six months ago.
Will they be priced the same as same-size CRT's? Not soon!
Re:Average 17" ones can be had for *well* under $300 if you're willing to accept refurbished units. On the other hand, average lcd's aren't good enough if you're a gamer, so I'll be sticking with CRT for a while.
