Q: I have my PC connected to my home theater setup just to see what it would be like . and most games are great, except for Doom 3.
Is there a way to “force” for responding to, say, 1920×1080 or widescreen res for that matter? Every time I try to set it higher than 1280×1024, it will automatically default back to 640×480 again, and in no case shall any widescreen resolutions offered. Since the TV is a 42 “LCD with 1920×1080 res, full-screen formats result in either black or the image-side bar extends only to fill the screen and looks horrible.
edit: if it helps . GPU is a 1900XTX connected via a DVI cable directly to the TV.

"Note: To display Doom 3 in Widescreen mode, or in fact at any other custom resolution, you will need to use the r_mode -1 command and then enter the screen height and width in the r_customheight and r_customwidth settings. E.g. r_customwidth 1280 r_customheight 720 will give the correct aspect ratio for widescreen diplays (16:9). See the Advanced Tweaking section for more details."
