Q: beyond this one small problem. I have everything to stand mamanged u0026amp, running on the system, but I can not seem to
UT stable running in D3D. It runs for about 5 minutes and then stops (locks). I can run under OpenGL (go figure), 977,503, but that tends to get choppy after about 5-6 cards. I tried all my usual tricks, with older / newer versions of the
D3Ddrv.dll, uses software rendering u0026amp; D3D again. So far it is to no avail. If anyone knows what the
problem could be, I would appreciate it. Facts
next sig – O / S = ME, tried almost every BIOS setting related to video (fast writes, Sidebanding, 977,503 video shadowing, agp x 4.2) – still no go.
Ive also run Prime95, 3DMark2000, CPU Stability Test, Quake 3 for hours without a hitch so I guess its not think
a heat output (44c under full load). I have UT running fine w / the previous 700/Epox 7KXa system
based so I do not think it a problem PS (350W).

Yep it sounds strange but I've been around long enough to know that some of the strangest stuff works sometimes. I like to call it MES – mysterious electronic sh&*. I'll have to give it a try.

Re:This may sound crazy, but try taking out one of the RAM sticks and putting the other in the slot furthest from the processor. (I'm assuming 2*128 mb sticks).
I had problems with lockups in 3d stuff on a new KT7 RAID based setup, and eventually moving the RAM about fixed it. Ended up with one 128mb stick in the first slot and one in the 3rd.

Re:Thanks guy, I'll have to give that a shot. You would figure that if it's atable in everything else that it would be in UT, but nothing is ever for certain

Re:Never mind. I did not catch that you had it working under Open GL. I see that you are running your 600 Duron at a gig. Did you try running UT at 600-700MHz in D3D? If it will, just bump it up as high as it will run it when you want to play.
