Ive the drive for a while and everything worked perfect response to it, but now I have a weird problem with the drive. It used to be DVD + R DL discs burn fine, but now I have four in a row fail. I think wrote the first layer and has problem going into the half. Still burns fine on DVD + R and RW. Time for a new drive?
Has the latest firmware (KS0B) and I burn with Nero 7. It is in an external enclosure if that makes a difference.
Best Answer: a bit of a hesitation when the layers change is not all that uncommon. You could try to slow down the burn speed to eliminate or at least lessen how noticeable this issue is. You could also try clonedvd and anydvd from http://www.slysoft.com they both have 21 day trials so you can try them and see if the problem goes away. That would determine if it were a software issue.
