Q: I would like to start putting my DVD collection on my HTPC and Im looking for some advice. I currently use DVD Decrypter to rip and DVD Shrink to compress. What I would like to do is be able to play DVDs on my hd without ISOs or load several files to mount (such as VIDEO_TS folders). Is there a way to do this? My goal is to be able to open my DVD library, but my HTPC front-end, which will probably be myHTPC, I have not decided yet. So having to mount such things difficult.
Re:Well, I can't even play it when I mount it normally.
Re:It's actually a D-Tools plugin or add-on that gives it Explorer support and double-click mounting. All free of course (Extinsible plug-in model).
Re:Any ideas what's wrong here?
Re:Nope, that didn't seem to fix it.
Re:For some reason I'm getting an access denied error when I try to play the iso. I tried associating with Daemon as recommended, but when I double click on the iso I get the error. I can mount it manually ok, but then powerdvd gives me an error when it tries to play. I am not sure if these are two distinct problems or part of one bigger problem. I'm creating a new iso now to see if that's it.
Re:I'll give that shot. Thanks!
Re:Windows XP allows you to automatically play a DVD when a disc is inserted. If you double-click the ISO and it mounts, Windows XP will play automatically if you have set it to.
Re:Can I make it then autoplay from there?
Re:It's possible to associate the ISO file so that opening it will mount it in your virtual drive application (I suggest Daemon-Tools)
