Q: I have a laptop, and I want to have wireless connection. Is there anyway to my router, switch setup (wired) and be able to use my laptop wirelessly? If not, what is the way I could do chepest

Best Answer: since you already have the wireless integrated on your laptop,all you need now is a wireless router.the cheapest router that Ive see was around 30 bucks

Re:Actually you are better off to stay with you Wired Router and add an Access Point.
Wireless Cable/DSL Router will end up with few cables attached; it is hard to put it in a good high place (With 4-6 cables hanging around). As a result the distance and level of communication "Sux".
A WAP has only one CAT5 that goes to the Router, and a Power supply cord, easy to place high out of the way of obstructions. Good WAPs can also be configured as a Bridge (Typical Wireless Routers will not).
One of the ways to augment Wireless is by using a better Antenna then the stick that come on the regular Wireless hardware.
While most of the Access Points have a removable Antenna, most Wireless Cable/DSL Routers do not.
Good mid price entry level APs are the Linksys WAP11 and the D-Link 900AP+.

Exactly the one I bought for the house. However, I got it on the 22nd for $99 from Best Buy. It will definitely do the trick and includes the Linksys firmware which allows the router to be coupled with ZoneAlarm Pro.

In my apartment I do. Currently I am at home with my parents for the holiday and I just installed a linksys wireless router. Both the WAP and wireless router are excellent.:)

Right now I'm just using a linksys wap and wireless card. They have never given me problems and work great.
