Q: just wondering . If anyone is looking for their CCNP or CCSP do?
i have a few routers, and some pix 501 and if anyone else has some equipment, the CAM should be merged. I work better with a partner or with a group, and Im sure there are others that work better on the same way.
right now, with the equipment I have, Im sure the BSCI, SECUR, CSPFA (sans failover) and CSVPN be completed w / I have.
it would be great if someone had access or had equipment that BCMSN (I would cover in January 2950), and BCRAN.
if youre interested, lemme know. I will try my BSCI exam to get over and done with in like 2 weeks.
typically, I would like someone who either has their own equipment as well or is willing to be as a mentor and get yourself on speed. I do not mean to offend, Im not really looking for someone to load my free time to get stuff I know nothing in return.
Best Answer: CCNP and CCSP are quite separate. There is a bit of overlap (particularly with CCNP's ISCW exam), but one is not a prerequisite of the other by any means. You need CCNA Security before you can go for your CCSP now, though.

cisco offers the "Cisco Qualified Specialist Certifications"
with the equipment i have, the following specialist certs can be acquired:
Cisco Firewall Specialist
Cisco VPN Specialist
possibly the Cisco Access Routing & LAN Switching Specialist
while they aren't professional level certs, i'm sure they're worth something.
ideally, if someone has some aironet equipment, the Cisco Access Routing & LAN Switching Specialist, and Cisco Wireless LAN Design Specialist can be prepped for as well.
so, seriously, noone is interested in doing this?

as for where i am, i'm in yorba linda.
i wanna get the BSCI out of the way first. i don't have a layer 3 switch which sorta throws a big "?" on when i'll take the BCMSN.

its really not that difficult and to tell you the truth I never "practiced" on equipment. Just read and took the tests.

I just up and scheduled the tests. One per week. Scheduled them all in one shot.
That way I HAD to study. Maybe a little harsh but it will put the motivation on ya.

as for the equipment… i have access to things that will allow me ot take the tests i mentioned. this is part of the reason i'm looking for someone else who has access to more equipment.
i know… what you're saying is 100% right, but i am really lousy when it comes to studying alone. something that should take me a month will end up taking a year.

Even so its pretty much just read the books and take the test. Don't be scared of it, just study and take the tests.
