Q: Just curious what the price difference will be so I can see if it would be better to just go ahead and get Pro .
Re:guy,
Depends on what you mean by intensive. Probably the best way to find out is to go here (http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/windowsxp_beta2.asp) and read about the feature sets of the Home Edition and the Professional version. If you can deal with the cheerleading, there is some useful information about the two variants of the OS. From what I've seen, the info is pretty accurate.

Jim
Re:Interesting, so we're talking the upgrades will be about $90 and $190 respectively. Is WinXP Pro worth the extra $100 for an intensive home user?
Re:My ex-gf is still in college. Time to take her to dinner or something and then bring up the "Educational Discount" sometime in the conversation. And before you think I'm wasting money on this, she doesn't eat much so I should be ok.
Re:Very similar to the prices of Win98/ME and Win2k Pro.
