Everyone who runs in d3d diabloii? [d3d mode] [diabloii]

Q: I have walked in DirectDraw Since I have the taste of D3D (: disgust: I), but felt making it another shot after all these driver updates for Radeon . dips below 30 fps still considered a TP and Automap are both open, but generally satisfactory compared with that big pile of shit before. The game stutters a lot in D3D, and I have 256 RAM also (for lvling, and stuff like that it looks a lot better, but the dueling of 8ppl chaos is me would dare to use again! a way to tweak? i think Im going to have me a cheap v3 2k and play on my secondary computer:)

Re:has anyone succeded at running the game with a glide emulator? this game seems to be the perfect candidate for an amulator…

Re:Damn, you're right, it dipped to 24 fps and that was with a TON of corpses lying around and all my pets in the Chaos Sanctuary onscreen. But it usually stayed above 30 fps even in the midst of heavy crowds. Dunno if it makes a difference or not, but I disable "perspective" in the video options screen cuz I can't stand the jiggly pixels it causes.

Re:I run diablo 2 in windowed mode… it's much easier for me… i don't have to alt tab and you know now that i think of it, i've never gotten D3D to work under diablo2.

Re:type fps. i bet money that your fps WILL dip below 30 unless you are running it in directdraw. and yes fps in does matter more so than in first person shooter games

Re:Hmm… is there a fps counter in I can bring up to find out? It may dip below 30fps, but overall it seems really smooth and no lag for me. When I first bought it and playing online with a 56k modem, Voodoo3, and 128mb memory, it was really jerky and laggy, but not anymore with DSL, GeForce2 Pro, and 256mb memory.

Re:boogak, i REALLY doubt you never dip below 30fps with gf2 pro, even my friends gf2 ultra gets pretty choppy. i dont care if its 90fps most times, it should NEVER dip that low. its bad enuff when there are 20 bs flying in the air, let alone those cheap ones who spam LR purposefully to lag you out :|

Re:I always run in D3d on my Radeon. It gets real choppy for some reason at the end of Duriel's chamber by Tyrael for some reason. Did that on my banshee too.

I guess I'll try directdraw and see how it goes though.

Re:Running on a GeForce2 Pro card in Direct3D, no problems at all even where there's alot of action going on. Click on PAQY in my sig to see my system specs.

Re:I alternatively run in 3d or 3d with my Radeon 32 MB retail. Never noticed the video problems you pointed out, mine seems flawless. I have 384 RAM, but also worked fine when I had 128.

BTW, I notice only minor differences between 2d & 3d-Diablo2 isn't really a 3d game.

I usually run in 2d because of a problem I have which I've never been able to solve. My game computer occassionally locks up solid in D2 with the game freezing. If I'm not in town I'm killed by the monsters. Even if I'm in town, many times when I reboot and come back I find out my character died and now only has 1 life (versus usual full life when coming back after a death). This pretty much locks me out of hardcore, which is too bad, because I think I would enjoy that the most.

Im running on a classic Athlon 750, abit mb system, Soundblaster Live, dialup connection.
