Q: My brother is looking for a quick AVI to MPEG2/VCD converter. I tried AVI2VCD, and its slow! Took 2 minutes 30 seconds to a AVI on a 1 GHz Pentium 3. He has a Pentium 2 400. Anyone know of anything that could properly run this? (Preferably something that would more than 2 -3 times the length of the movie to convert)
Re:Thanks, I'll try these out. I never expected to get real time encoding on the Pentium 2 or the 1 GHZ, just looking for something that can do it faster than AVI2VCD (Which currently takes more than 4x the segment length to encode on a 1 GHZ machine).
Re:yeah… video encoding takes much time (even on Athlon or P4)
you may try VCDcutter or TMPGenc though….
Re:i don't think there's any converter out there that'll do real-time conversion with p2/400
not to crap or kill your hopes on this… but conversion takes time.
