Q: I have a laptop here that I do not recall them in some components. I must first find out what sound is there, and ATI Mobile Radeon 9700 can not use the Catalyst drivers, because it is not officially supported by ATI. I have the information needed to find out what drivers I need.
The laptop is really a no-name laptop, so that a issue.
Any ideas?

Re:Forgot to mention that this was a Windows box.
Well, we figured out that the laptop manufacturer did have a website, so we visited and got the according drivers.
Belarc did work somewhat, but it missed out some components: the sound card, and one more thing. It's all ok now though, because I go the drivers from the website.
Also: ATI's driver didn't work, even the ones from the manufacturer's website, so I used the modtool, and it works now.
Thanks.

Re:Yeah, I hate how you get forced into verifying OEM status for video drivers and if you don't have the original OS installed, you're screwed.
Anyway, there's a tool that can mod the latest Catalyst drivers to detect and install for mobile chipsets.
