Floppy and HDD on the same cable: how do I use the master / slave? [building a pc] [master slave]

Q: I am in the midst of now. I use the guide here:

http: / / ~ www.omnicast.net/ tmcfadden/guides/build/HardDrive.html

The guide is a bit different from my setup. I have a DVD burner and a CD burner on a cable, DVD, CD master is slave.

I have another cable, and I must put my floppy drive and hard drive. The floppy has no real master / slave settings, but not the HDD (I think?). How do I fix this? It is a Maxtor 250 GB HDD and a Sony floppy drive if matters.

Thanks!

Re:The floppy uses a different cable than the HD does. you cannot put the floppy disk on the same IDE channel as the HD. Do you have a motherboard manual? It should show you the separate channel that the FD goes on.
