Q: How would you go about reformatting a laptop that does not have a cdrom drive? as one of those super-slim laptops? is there anyway to do that through a network?

Some BIOS allows booting guyom USB devices. Maybe you should find a slim laptop that boots guyom USB device.

Re:Last time I did it, I pulled the HDD out of the laptop and stuck it in a different laptop w/ a CD-ROM drive.

get a floppy drive that can connect to it somehow, use a dos boot disk.
