games on the 360 getting patched? [glitches] [pc games]

Q: Im sure many games ship with unknown , and for years patching. Xbox is doing well?

Best Answer: Well, Critics notwithstanding.. the game manufacturer says the MINIMUM system reqirements for that game are…
* Operating System: Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2. Windows 7
* CPU Processor: 2.4 GHz Dual Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
* Memory: 2 GB RAM
* Hard Disk Space: 23.8 GB + 1 GB Swap File
* Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
* Video Card: 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required — 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 256 MB Video Memory with Shader 3.0 support
* Video Card (ATI): Radeon HD 2900
* Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 8800
* Media Required: 8X DVD-ROM drive
* Windows XP/Vista compatible mouse and keyboard or Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired Controller

So, although you exceed the video card requirements, you fail at the CPU… by a large margin.

Forget about attempting to overclock your processor. Your laptop is already shutting down due to overheating, and that would only increase if you WERE able to overclock it, since overclocking increases heat production. Add to that the fact that your laptop BIOS doe snot include any control over the settings needed to overclock a processor (because laptops are not made to overclock)… and you are asking about instructions on how to do something that can't be done with your equipment. I don't care if you think it SHOULD be able to be done. If you overclock a Desktop, you replace the standard heatsink with something larger that is able to dissipate the heat faster. How are you going to do that with a laptop? A chillpad won't do it.

So the bottleneck here is your processor.

The fastest processor in that family (that you could definitely upgrade to is this one http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=421… and that is only a 2.26ghz processor. It would improve things a bit, but it would STILL not be enough.

I'm sorry. Your laptop might play some games from a few years ago quite nicely, but it is not a gaming laptop for Star Wars Force Unleashed. Sure, Resident Evil 5 runs perfect, but the system requirements on that game are far below that of Force Unleashed. You can't use one game as a yardstick against another, unless the system requirements are the same.

end of line

It's one of the best things about Live…the patching!

Which means that Xbox game writers can lower their quality standards. If it screws up, hey, we can just ship out a patch later!

My roommates played Gears of War for awhile. Lots of fun bugs. The best one though was when a Beserker would attack, run into a doorway, and just stand there. That's it, it'd just stop. Apparently it somehow got stuck on a doorway it should have been able to run through, and it couldn't figure a way out. This is a creature living up to its name, always going totally nuts and charging crazily at you, so standing still isn't something it's ever meant to do.

BTW, patches are done very quickly through Live and it's not like the PC world where there is patch after patch and big DLs. Game stability is soooo much better than the PCs.

Yes, the Silver membership. Gold is the one you pay for. Silver should be good to go on downloads and such.

Sliver offer almost every service except online play.

Sliver service :
Patches
Game single player demo , MMO game beta & multiplayer demo like dead rising , Fantasy Star Universe … ect
Entertainment content like the exclusive red vs blue series for xbox live
XBOX live arcade games like Geometry wars , Smash TV , Mortal Combat 3 , Contra … ect
XBOX live gamer score which is great
Send text , audio & video message to your xbox live Buddy list
Download free themes & picture pack (don't buy any )
Game content (most are crap but some are good )
ALso gives XBOX live game dash board update every 6month which extra function to xbox 360 like WMV over network playback support , 1080p support , HD-DVD support , DVD software update with 1080p upscale res support … things like that

Gold offers everything sliver does but it may give some exclusive early content or beta testing. Also online multi-player support for you XBOX Live arcade and your XBOX 360 games.

Re:However if you can't have access to XBOX Live you're screwed I presume. Same thing goes on PC mind you. If you have a PC capable of playing games without Internet (for 'x' reaon(s)) then you're as well stuck with the vanilla version of the games.

Re:Yea..when devs fix up any issues with their 360 games the update is downloaded through live. Basically when you start a game and there is an update available (patch, new levels, new cars..etc) you will get a prompt to download if you want. The download will start then afterwards the game will restart and you are good to go.
