Q: Ive finally finished installing Gentoo and KDE, but I can not press x to work
I constantly tried to configure XFree86, but no go .
The video comes from a Maxtrox G200 AGP 4MB integrated chipset on my Vectra Vli8
I keep trying it and it finally stops at the “startx” command
I get an error saying there are screens available but not correctly configured, although it also gets are
I a mouse failed initialization error with my Logitech USB Optical Mousemasn got, t effort to bring that up yet .
any guidance on what to do?

I tried using USAb using a variety of configurations to no avial. I even tried using a ps2 adapter and no luck. For some reason when I used another ps2 adapter and chose ps2 mosue it finally worked. I then had some troubles with resolution and unproportional screensizes…virtual desktops….but after a while it was all fixed.

Re:get on the gentoo mailing list. the documentation for this distro is superb, but anything of pressing urgency gets adressed via mail within about an hour for me.
