Q: it sounds like the computer starts and stops at the password screen, but nothing is displayed on the monitor. i all the beeps. I think it might be my video card, but Im not sure. and I do not have another handy to test it out. Suggestions?
hardware: abit KT7, GeForce2 GTS, 128MB RAM, T-bird 1200.
Best Answer: This definently sounds like you have a bad memory chip if there are 2 of them try taking one out and restarting and see what happens then vise a versa do it with the other one to.

no mods recently. it worked this morning, but now it won't start. it's the "beta" in my rigs section.

Is it a newly built pc ? or did you just add new hardware ?

Re:Award bios uses one long then two short beeps for video failure, try reseating the vid card.
