Q: First time poster here (been a lurker for some time), but was wondering if I could get some help. A friend has a project she is preparing “hacking” activities people took part in when they were young. I know that in the strict sense of “hacking” is often incorrectly umbrella term for all sorts of stuff, but I am sure that you get the idea of her questions.
You are welcome to remain anonymous, or not in both directions, if you answer these questions, it would be a great help. Hopefully, if some of the posts here I am accustomed (and / or people who contact me privately) and is used in everything she does, I can follow up and after the final result. If you do not contact (or post them to take me privately) your comments will be referred to as “anonymous” they must be ordered anything.

What kind of computer-related things you did that were illegal?
Were you ever caught?
Why did you do?
How did you learn these things?
What your knowledge to use for now?
Is better your knowledge to use legal or illegal? And why?
What would you tell potential future “hackers”?
Do you think hacking should be illegal?
What should the punishment be?
What the public should know about hacking?
Thanks for your help u0026amp; time.

any good hacking stories? I love hearing about "old-school" hacking, mid-80's stuff rocks my world.
I 'hacked' my father's new cell phone when I was 6 if that counts. Not sure about the other guy. hehe

Re:guy, why even respond? 'Get a life' indeed.
Thanks for the private messages by the way with the questions answered. We've got about 40 responses so far. The more the better… ![]()
Re:You have really got to be kidding right?
Two things to consider here.
1, the users of AT forums are honest people who for the most part really hate hacking and hackers, black or white.
2, In the unlikely event some are less than honest they would never respond to such a stupid post. anonymous my ass.
I am personaly offended wtf you think "tech-nerds" are all you find here?
Get a life:disgust:
Re:I appreciate the votes and the response so far. Anyone else? Surely there are tech-nerds out there begging to explain their lucidity.
Re:I used Sub7 (i was in 7th grade, leave me alone) to get into people's computers (whom i hated at school) and caused general havoc, stole passwords, and deleted files.
I was caught by another friend who didn't like what i was doing
Pissed at people, i was an angry kid
Older brother, online FAQs, general urge to get back at people using my script kiddie skillz
Nothing.
Legally, because you can get $$ off of it, and because my morals tell me so.
Don't do it. You can piss people off digitally, but they can beat your ass physically
Put them in jail with "bubba"
That it can be prevented.
