HELP!-ATI Rage 128 and Iwill KK266 [ati rage 128] [amd duron 800]

Q: Need some advice. I recently bought an Iwill KK266 motherboard, new RAM (128MB cas2) and an to upgrade my computer. I had an PCI Xpert video card that I wanted a bit more use out of it while waiting for the GeForce 3 cards drop in price. I put the system together with the FSB jumper to 133 MHz. On the boat, I have no video signal to my monitor. Each time this happened. Then I reset the jumper to 100 MHz FSB, and tried again. This time I got video at boot, but it only takes a few minutes before things crazy. I start becoming purple, green and gray rectangles on the screen, and then my computer crashes, or loses the video signal. I guess there are problems with the video card, but I thought someone else might get a little more light shed on the issue. Thanks

Do the world a favor and burn it, or at least replace it :)

Re:Well, I got my system to function for long periods of time, but only after turning the hardware acceleration off completely. Thanks for the advice, but my goodness, what a piece of crap!

Re:guy, I'll keep this brief, but keep in mind that the original story is very long… :)

I researched like CRAZY on this, and I've found only 4 other people that had our issue – all of them had the same video card. I fixed mine temporarily by going to the "Advanced" button of the Display –> Settings box. From there, I had to REDUCE the hardware acceleration to the 2nd "line" on the sliding scale. This fixed all of my lockups, screen rectangles (the exact same thing), etc. HOWEVER, I couldn't play any games with Direct3D! So, if I was going to play a game, I would reboot, change the "slider" in the display properties to the 3rd "line", reboot, and then IMMEDIATELY try to get into the game.

I'm NOT sure about the 100 FSB issue, though. I didn't have problems with that.

In conclusion: I bought a Radeon LE from Newegg, downloaded Radeon Tweaker, and I now have the full ATI Radeon videocard running in my computer for about $50 less. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, please take the time to read this article (http://www.{$MySite}/video/showdoc.html?i=1473). It will be very worthwhile!

Re:First of all, the duron should be ran at 100 fsb. Now reset the cmos and try again.
